Unbelievable reception to the new single by Bounty Killer, with people even telling me that it was nice to hear Bounty Killer on an old school dancehall riddim! Here is a great remix of the track for all the DJ’s who’ve supported the record, something more playable for the modern-day club goers! So you live around Zurich and don’t have any plans yet for this weekend? Don’t worry, we’ve got you covered! This weekend I will be spinning at two of my favourite clubs in Zurich:

First of all the well-known Thursday night at Plaza club called Nachtseminar is the best place for open-format music in Zürich. If you are a real party animal and like to party before the weekend, then this is the place for you. With all kinds of music, the Nachtseminar resident DJ’s never fail to deliver, because their lineup is based on quality, with most of their DJ’s the cream of the crop in open-format music in Switzerland.

For Friday night, I will be at Hard One club, this is a +23 age limit, which helps raise the quality of the crowd. The crowd also is very cosmopolitan and you will feel the energy and vibrance of Zurich in one place. The low ceiling and beautiful sofas all around the room give the club a really nice “lounge” feeling, and the staff are amazing at this location, always smiling and serving strong drinks 😉

And last but not least, Saturday night is the monthly event I’ve been a part of for the past 4 years, LA BOUTIQUE. The motto is “Fashion For Music” and the 70/30 woman-to-man ratio is legendary!! Hiltl has become one of Zurich’s top locations over the past few years, I think due to the great staff, the central location and of course the great music and events organized at this place. There is nothing better than to know you’re in a professionally run club, where quality is always more important than quality, and this is a testimony to their recent success as a restaurant, bar, lounge and club over the past 5 years.

Throwback Thursday Time: I remember a year ago going to New York City and hanging out with Papoose, having Busta Rhymes and DJ Khaled in Studio B, and also a private studio listening session with LL Cool J during my stay. He invited some of New York’s best DJ’s and upcoming artists, such as DJ Whoo Kid, Maino, Murda Mook, Graph amongst the 15 guests in the room. I loved the vibe in the studio, listening to LL Cool J give his insight and share his knowledge with us was a really great experience for me. All of a sudden, a huge camera jumped in, and the very next morning, I was on National Television, Fox News came in to interview LL about his upcoming project. Since then, due to his TV commitments, the Album has yet to come out but it was definitely nice to hang out with one of the absolute LEGENDS of the music and entertainment industry. Exactly 1 year ago I released my first ever single “How We Roll” and made a little bit of Swiss Music history. This song I produced reached #3 on the US college radio rap charts, the video has since gathered over a quarter million views, and ultimately got me signed to Ryan’s DMM Label as an artist, allowing me to release my album #RealDreams through his channel, and through the good folks at Nation Music, who then helped me reach #8 on the Swiss iTunes Hip-Hop charts. So many great things happened of the back of the success this record received. I definitely didn’t expect such a good reception but being played by other DJ’s worldwide on the radio and in the club was a dream come true for me. When you work hard at something and focus on doing it to the best of your ability, everything sooner or later falls into place, and happens for a reason. I spent years trying to make a successful record. This was simply meant to be, and that’s how I got the name of my album, #RealDreams. For those who follow me you know I went to Jamaica this summer to get some music done with the legendary BOUNTY KILLER. Di General himself told me, “Swissivory, your riddim was crazy! I loved the energy!” What a great feeling to know that someone who’s been in the business for over 20 years at the very top of Jamaican Music, would say something like this about my production. Needless to say, it was an honour for me to be in a video alongside one of the most important artists and pioneers of Dancehall Music! We also had a chance to go out and party (Instagram video below) and I can tell you, that for anyone who didn’t know Bounty Killer before, when you stay around him, you begin to truly realize how respected and impactful his music is.
